History

Shri Mahesh Shikshan Sansthan is a premier educational institution of the historic city of Jodhpur. It has a very special reputation in the field of education because of the educational standards it has set. The Sansthan was established on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami in the year 1919. Basant Panchami is the day to worship Maa Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom. Since its inception this institution has set up several new records and today it is the largest institution of its kind. Within the past ten decades the sansthan has seen the inception and growth of ten educational units namely Shri Mahesh Sr.Sc. school and Shri Maheswari Sr. Sec. School (E.M.) for boys, Shri Sohanlal Manihar Girls’ Sr. Sec. School, Mahesh Children’s School (E.M.), Mahesh Prathamik Vidyalaya, Shah Goverdhan lal Kabra Teachers’ Training College, Shri Onkarmal Somani College of Commerce, Mahesh Mahila Mahavidyalaya and Mahesh Hostel. Over 7700 students (boys & girls) receive quality education under the guidance and supervision of over 500 highly qualified and trained educators.
